Why should I convert PNG to JPG? +

JPG files are typically 50-80% smaller than PNG files, making them ideal for web use, email attachments, and storage. If your image doesn't require transparency, converting to JPG can significantly reduce file size while maintaining good visual quality. This leads to faster loading times and less storage space usage.

Will I lose image quality when converting? +

JPG uses lossy compression, which means there may be slight quality reduction. However, our tool lets you adjust the quality setting from 60% to 100%. At 90-100% quality, the difference is virtually unnoticeable to the human eye. We recommend starting at 90% for the best balance between quality and file size.

What happens to transparent backgrounds? +

JPG format doesn't support transparency. Any transparent areas in your PNG images will be converted to a solid background color. By default, we use white, but you can choose any custom background color using our color picker. This is useful if you want the background to match your website or brand colors.
